Pirates Head North for Wednesday Night Tilt at Providence
Providence, R.I. - The Seton Hall men's basketball team, under head coach Kevin Willard, has seen it all. There have been winning streaks and there have been losing streaks. And while the disappointment of missed opportunities last week may still linger with fans, the Pirates must have a short memory as two more big opportunities await them, beginning with Wednesday night's affair at Providence.
The Pirates and Friars have near identical records, but Providence does have a victory over The Hall in its back pocket, an overtime win at Prudential Center back in December. The Pirates hope they can return the favor and do so in the same building where they last won at Providence. Wednesday's game will take place on campus in Alumni Hall as opposed to Dunkin' Donuts Center. It harkens back memories to Feb. 21, 2018, when the Pirates-Friars game at The Dunk was suspended with 13:03 remaining on the clock due to unsafe court conditions. The Pirates went back to their hotel, got some sleep, and then got up the next day and finished the game with the Friars at Alumni Hall. The Pirates won, 89-77, on the strength of 25 points from Khadeen Carrington.
Wednesday's game will be on FS1 with Brandon Gaudin and Donny Marshall calling the action. The duo that is as smooth as silk, Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin, will remotely call the game on the radio via WMCA 570 AM, simulcast on XM 384, the Pirate Sports Network and TuneIn. FS1
